It starts with the small, tight-knit surfing community in Canada. What is amazing about this weird and frothy family is that it extends across a vast distance. You can find stoked surfers throughout Canada and on either coast in some of the most remote places on the planet.
East coast, west coast, rivers, lakes and beyond, the surf scene in Canada is growing, thriving and becoming more connected. This is the foundation upon which we base the pillars of Hurricane Surf Company.
Share the Stoke
Stoke is a positive mindset and a direct line to the source of joy that is surfing. It’s a state of gratitude for participating in such a wonderful pursuit. It is our first pillar because it is instinctual, ingrained in us and serves as a constant reminder that we are in this to have fun. No matter our ability level, we all get stoked from surfing.
Support Progression
For a surfer, progress ignites the spark of stoke, giving us reason to return to the waves to pursue mastery. Surf communities also progress and evolve collectively. We want to drive the standard of surfing in Nova Scotia so that surfers can get the most out of the waves they ride and have more fun!
We are committed to supporting competitive-level surfing in Nova Scotia, in the hopes of supporting future Nova Scotian athletes to compete across Canada and on the world stage.
Foster Stewardship
As surfing grows in popularity, it is crucial to promote etiquette and the proper use of surfing areas. We provide mentorship and guidance in upholding stewardship by teaching students directly and through setting the example in our daily interactions with the broader surfing community.
Promote Accessibility
Anyone can surf!! We work with all ability levels, and the lesson is always adapted to meet the needs of the individual.
We continually support programs and initiatives aimed at helping surfing reach those who face barriers to entry.
